Death Valley has a number of sand dunes which are in perpetual motion as the wind slowly blows them across the land.

Death Valley, true to its name, is nearly absent of the abundance of life that is so common in other parts of the state.

The water from a nearby hot spring provides a small oasis where plant life flourishes in the barren land.

The mountains of the valley are packed with abandoned mine shafts.
