The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.
Agenda
• Contingency allocations were approved unanimously.
• The council unanimously approved the USAC surplus final total of about $160,000. The council will discuss moving money from the capital contingency to contingency programming next week.
Officer Reports
• President Emily Resnick said she will be meeting with Chancellor Gene Block on Friday. She also told the council about her conference call with UC Board of Regents Chair Sherry Lansing last week, where Lansing discussed a day of action for higher education on May 17.
• Kristina Sidrak, internal vice president, said her office is sponsoring an Apartment Fair today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ackerman Grand Ballroom.
• Joelle Gamble, external vice president, said her office will be registering voters on Thursday as part of the StudentVote! Coalition. She also announced a meeting for the Undergraduate California Student Association at UCLA, which will take place from Feb. 4-6.
• Raquel Saxe, academic affairs commissioner, said the new Community and Conflict in the Modern World requirement has been delayed. The earliest that faculty can vote on it is in March, she said.
• Patty Zimmerman, student government services manager, said the deadline to apply for The Green Initiative Fund is this Friday.
Appointments
• Erica Liu, a fourth-year study of religion student, was unanimously appointed to the Wooden Center Board of Governors.
• The council approved Cindy Wang, a first-year mathematics student, and Christopher Cantu, a first-year English student, as alternate members on the Finance Committee.
