The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

Agenda

• This week’s contingency allocations were unanimously approved.
• The council unanimously approved minor changes to the capital contingency and contingency programming fund applications. The adjustments included a change to the Finance Committee email address, the addition of a word limit and specifying that applications should be typed.

Officer reports

• President Emily Resnick said councilmembers will be in De Neve dining hall this Thursday from 6-8 p.m. to answer questions from students.
• Kristina Sidrak, internal vice president, said incoming undergraduate students for the 2012-2013 school year will have Gmail accounts starting this March, while current students, alumni and retirees will move to Gmail by the fall. Sidrak said the Community Service Officer Evening Van Service now has more flexible routes, instead of only having specific stops.
• Joelle Gamble, external vice president, said the Student Debt Week of Action is next week from Monday to Wednesday in Bruin Plaza. Gamble said students can contact the state and national government to advocate for affordable education and watch a screening of the documentary “Default.” Gamble said the UC Student Regent application is due this Thursday.
• Raquel Saxe, academic affairs commissioner, said the Student Math Center is now organizing the center by course. Saxe said Kristen McKinney, director of the Student Affairs Information and Research Office, is teaching a new Fiat Lux seminar next quarter called “What’s UCLA’s Temperature: Examining Campus Climate.”

Appointments

• The council unanimously appointed Elizabeth Palmer, a first-year biology student, to the John Wooden Center Board of Governors.

Special Presentations

• Lisa Koerbling, director of parking and finance for UCLA Transportation, said there will be changes to the parking permit application process and a proposed parking fee increase for next year.
