The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

Agenda

• This week’s contingency allocations were approved unanimously.
• President Emily Resnick’s office will make minor changes to the council code of ethics and present the revised language within the next two weeks.
• The council will not vote on the $76,000 allocation from Associated Students UCLA until the second week of spring quarter. There was no change to current student programming funding.

Officer Reports

• Resnick said her office is putting on the Rollin’ Rally this Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the top of Drake Stadium before the Cal basketball game. She also said her office is looking to add a section to the USAC website for office accomplishments.
• Resnick’s office and the Cultural Affairs Commission withdrew their contingency programming requests for this week.
• Kristina Sidrak, internal vice president, said her office is reaching out to student groups and answering their questions about applying for funding and planning events.
• Joelle Gamble, external vice president, said the Bruin Lobby Corps will meet with Assemblymember Holly Mitchell this Friday at 1 p.m.
• Raquel Saxe, academic affairs commissioner, said her office is creating a peer mentorship program, pairing student leaders with freshmen and transfer students. Saxe said her office is working with ASUCLA to try to lower the cost of textbooks.

Special Presentations
• Roman Nguyen, budget review director, recommended that the council not use the portion of the $76,000 from ASUCLA designated for the Undergraduate Student Association Board of Directors Programming Fund until he knows the final student group allocations early spring quarter.
• Sara Chervin and Brandon Adachi, representatives from Special Olympics Southern California, presented an overview of their program and asked the council to get involved with fundraising and volunteering. UCLA is co-hosting the World Games in 2015.
