University police are searching for a man who grabbed a woman’s inner thigh and breast with his hand at the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Weyburn Avenue on May 25.
The suspect, described as an Asian man about 25 years old, is wanted on charges of sexual battery. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs about 140 pounds, according to a police statement released May 26.
The man allegedly approached the woman, who is a student at Santa Monica City College, near Stein and Westwood plazas on the UCLA campus. He struck up a conversation with the woman and continued walking alongside her as she proceeded down Westwood Boulevard.
The man grabbed the woman when they reached the alley behind the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the corner of Westwood and Weyburn avenues, but she was able to get free from him and flee the area.
The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information should contact UCPD at 310-825-1491.
