Three Japanese students at the Luskin School of Public Affairs organized a trip for other UCLA graduate students to travel to Japan during spring break. While there, they had the opportunity to be a part of the volunteer efforts in the areas devastated by the earthquake and tsunami last year.

On Apr. 12, the St. Baldric’s Foundation gathered at the Westwood Brewing Company and held “Brew N Shave,” an event where participants would shave their head and help raise money to fight pediatric cancer.

Among the 19 teams attending the 2012 Quidditch Western Cup at UCLA were the Qwertryians from Tijuana. Alberto Santilla talks about the team’s origin, including their name and mascot.

On Feb. 4, students gathered in teams to create complex contraptions as part of the Rube Goldberg Machine contest. Kitten Cannon was one of these teams. See the story of how they met, and how they ultimately fared.

Junior Markel Walker and senior Rebekah Gardner led the UCLA Bruins to victory over the Washington Huskies on Thursday night, Feb. 2, at the John Wooden Center. Check out some of their big plays from the game.
