Kevin Chappell, right, accepts the Nicklaus award with legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, center, and UCLA golf coach Derek Freeman, left. Chappell was chosen for the prestigious award, given to the top collegiate golfer, after he led UCLA to its first NCAA title in 20 years and captured the NCAA individual title with a final score of 2-under-par. Chappell was also named a first-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association and Pac-10 player of the year.
