Local and state officials condemned UCLA and law enforcement agencies’ lack of a timely response to a counter-protester attack on the Palestine solidarity encampment Tuesday night.
Counter-protesters demonstrated against pro-Palestine protesters Sunday, filling Dickson Plaza and Portola Plaza with thousands of people.
The counter-protest, organized by the Israeli American Council, drew thousands of participants.
Around 60 counter-protesters attempted to breach the entrance of the encampment in Dickson Plaza around midnight Tuesday morning, drawing the presence of six UCPD officers in riot gear.

An encampment led by students in support of Palestine began Thursday morning outside of Royce Hall.
The encampment was organized by Students for Justice in Palestine, and garnered the attention of around 100 students by 10 a.m.
