A new campus group will advocate for lower housing costs in Westwood through student activism.
Abundant Housing LA at UCLA, a student chapter of Abundant Housing LA, held its first meeting Monday, discussing current housing costs in Los Angeles and Westwood with Abundant Housing LA organizers.
UCLA is calling for community members to review its new policy allowing for requests for commemorative lightings of Royce Hall and Powell Library, according to a campuswide announcement sent Sept.
UCLA will acquire two new sites in Rancho Palos Verdes and San Pedro, Chancellor Gene Block announced in a systemwide email Tuesday.
The new sites, totaling 35.5 acres, will enable the university to expand campus access to students, following the University of California’s goal to increase enrollment by 2030, the announcement said.
Students expressed disappointment and concern that UCLA will not be offering an off-campus meal plan for fall.
The Bruin Meal Plan enables off-campus students, including those in university apartments, to use on-campus dining halls, according to the UCLA Housing website.
