The Westwood Village Improvement Association is finding new ways to engage students and community members.
Events held in Westwood throughout the academic year – such as the annual Westwood Village Block Party and monthly Bruin Flea – seek to encourage students to interact with Westwood businesses and other small vendors, said Megan Furey, the director of programs and partnerships for WVIA.
A task force is considering new ways to revamp UCLA’s general education program, including considering making cluster program participation mandatory for first-year students.
The task force, which consists of professors across departments, was created to redesign current GE requirements and create a plan to implement the new changes.
